Bird-In-Hand

Amish Country Bird-in-Hand Half Marathon - A 13.1 mile run organized by the USRA Half Marathon Series. The run will leave from Bird-in-Hand and wind through the country roads of Lancaster County's picturesque region.

There will also be a 5K and Kids One Mile Run, all in a festive atmosphere with live music and a post race celebration.

Lancaster City

First Friday - It is always a great time to visit Lancaster City on the first Friday of each month. Experience the downtown as 0ver 60 galleries, museums, shops, and restaurants extend their hours.

1710 Pequea Settlement Tour - Follow in the footsteps of the first permanent European settlers in Lancaster County, visiting sites of Pennsylvania German historic and genealogical interest in Strasburg and Willow Street.

Mayor's Tree Lighting and Tuba Christmas - The official kickoff of the holiday season in Downtown Lancaster begins with the Mayor’s Tree Lighting in Penn Square. See the arrival of Santa Claus, carolers, and, the famous “Tuba Christmas”.

Midnight Madness - Black Friday - Rockvale Outlets' Annual Midnight Madness shopping spectacular. Stores will open at 12:00 midnight the evening after Thanksgiving dinner, and will remain open the entire day until 9:00pm on Friday, November 26th, 2010.

Marietta Tree Lighting - Visit Historic Marietta for the annual Tree Lighting Event. Come see the Museum at the Old Town Hall, join in the Christmas caroling with the Donegal Alumni Band and watch for Santa and Mrs Claus and their elves to arrive.

Strasburg

Taking the Swing Train ‘40S Dance - Come and swing to the popular Sound of Roses live band among the trains in the Railroad Museum’s awe inspiring Rolling Stock Hall.

Trains and Troops - Trains & Troops is the Museum's annual tribute to the U.S. Armed Forces, American railroads and all those who served, and are serving, overseas and on the home front in defense of our nation. Experience a fascinating array of military and railroad service-related archival posters, uniforms, equipment, field gear, maps, books and photographs on display from participating exhibitors, as well as from the Railroad Museum's own collection. You will get to enjoy riding the troop trains on the Strasburg Rail Road with living history re-enactments on both days. The special train will be comprised of a Strasburg Rail Road historic steam locomotive, a boxcar, a military flatcar from the Railroad Museum’s collection, two coaches and a caboose.

Day Out With Thomas - Join Thomas the Tank Engine, a full-sized, operating steam locomotive, as he chugs into town with his friends. Ride a train pulled by Thomas and meet Sir Topham Hatt. There will be storytelling, live music, and more fun for kids.

Santa's Paradise Express - Recapture the magic of the holiday season. Potbelly stoves gently warm the passenger cars as you travel with Santa. Sing Christmas carols along with musicians as they stroll from car to car. If you listen carefully, you may even hear the sounds of ringing bells.
