Mount Joy Bed and Breakfasts

Staying at one of the Mount Joy Bed and Breakfasts is another good choice if you are planning on "Town-hopping" during your visit and want a quaint and charming place to rest in the evenings.

Mount Joy was actually founded by Scottish and Irish immigrants. In fact, the name Mount Joy actually comes from an Irish supply ship, the Mountjoy, which broke through a rive blockade in Ireland during the 1688-1689 conflict between William of Orange and the former King James II and the Scottish Presbyterians.

The heroic feat had so inspired the Scottish and Irish immigrants who had arrived in the New World seeking economic, social and religious freedom, that they named the new town Mount Joy in the early 1700's.

Today, Mount Joy, is surprisingly modern. Perhaps, this is due to its location on two major transportation routes. In any case, unlike some other Lancaster County towns, Mount Joy has grown with the times while still retaining its historical roots.

With its friendly people, vital commercial center, and small-town charm, Mount Joy makes for an ideal resting place as you explore the town and visit the neighboring communities.

For those spending the night, the fine Mount Joy Bed and Breakfasts provide comfort, history, elegance, and convenience.
