Owned by Alice and E.Y. Murphey, this Lancaster Bed and Breakfastis a restored Italianate Victorian family home (circa 1860).

The elegance of this Lancaster accommodation begins with the grand parlor which has a fireplace, music room , kitchenette with homemade treats and beverages, and a library. Historic murals and fine art tastefully decorate the home. There is also a luxurious garden area and pond.

The B & B features four standard rooms. Each room has gas fireplace, private bath with heated tile floors, color cable TV/VCR, CD player and data port. The rooms are big enough for double occupancy.

There is also the larger Bowman Suite has the standard room amenities as well as a whirlpool tub, King-sized bed, quiet sitting room and summer balcony.

This renovated 1941 house overlooks a picturesque working farm and is surrounded by lush cottage gardens of perennials and annuals. The Bed and Breakfast is only 4 miles east of the city of Lancaster.

All rooms have a private bath and beds are queen-sized. Choose among the following:

  • The Country Room - This comfortable room is furnished in country decor with a queen-sized canopy bed. The bath is tiled with a refinished period cast iron tub and a shower.
  • The Garden Room - This guest room has an antique queen bed, a small sitting area and an electric fireplace. The bath has a corner shower and a pedestal sink.

Each morning begins with a full gourmet breakfast, featuring fresh delicacies of the season. You will start with fresh-ground coffee, juice and a fruit dish. Then, the main entree varies. It can be Sausage Florentine Crepes, Sweet Potato Pecan Pancakes, or Southern waffles with seasonal fruits and muffins of all types. All our breakfasts are made from scratch are served in the beautiful dining room, family style.

O'Flaherty's Dingeldein House Bed and Breakfast

Currently owned by Gerry and Dave Blaich, this Lancaster lodging was Built approximately in 1910 in the Dutch Colonial style which was popular at the time. Originally a private residence for members of the Armstrong family of cork and tile fame, it first became a bed and breakfast in 1986.

You will have your choice to stay at the main inn or at the newer cottage across the relaxing Victorian Koi fishpond and gardens. You can choose among the following rooms:

  • The Master Suite - Double occupancy room located in the main inn furnished with a queen-sized bed, comfortable seating area, separate dressing room with antique dresser, enormous period bath with huge soaking tub and walk-in tile shower.
  • The Garden Suite - Located in the main inn, this two room family suite will provide comfortable lodging for four family members. The first Room has a large queen-sized bed and fireplace. The adjoining room has two twin beds. The large original family bath is immediately adjacent in the hallway. However,it is for the private use of the Garden Suite guests.
  • The Queen Room - Also, located in the main inn, this room is furnished with a queen-sized bed as well as a twin size trundle for use by a third adult or child sharing the room. The room also contains two comfortable wing back chairs, a fireplace and a private bath.
  • The Princess Room - This cozy room is the original maid's room for the 1910 home. Set in the eave of the private bathroom is a quaint “shorty” claw foot tub with a hand held shower. The room has a queen-sized bed.
  • The Rose Room - This large, modern room is located in the cottage, across the garden from the main house. It has its own private bathroom with combination tub and shower, a queen-sized bed and two comfortable reading chairs. There is stylish large skylight over the bed.
  • The Nature Room - This bright cheerful yellow room with blue accents is also located in the newer cottage. This is a double occupancy room with writing desk and skylight.

Most breakfasts at this Lancaster Bed and Breakfast includes a meat side dish such as locally cured bacon or local sausages. The main course of the hearty breakfast may also include soufflé O'Brian; southern fried apples; sliced fresh or grilled tomatoes; blueberry pancakes; scrambled eggs; stuffed grilled French toast; an omelet; potato bread French toast, or baked oatmeal. Breakfast includes a selection of homemade muffins or loaf breads. Seasonal fruit as well as beverages are also served.

In 1998, two teachers, Vivian and Bob Abel, began work converting a 1809 stone bank barn into this fine Lancaster Bed and Breakfastcombines today's modern luxuries with the barn's original architectural features.

Pheasant Run Farm Bed and Breakfast opened its doors to guests in 2002 and was presented with an award for Adaptive Re-use by the Historic Preservation Trust of Lancaster County. It also received an Award of Excellence from The Keystone Chapter, Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. for interior finishes.

Choose among the following rooms:

  • Henry and Anna's Room - The most spacious of the guest rooms, the room is painted a soft peach and furnished with a king-size tall poster bed, an antique highboy and wingback chairs. It features a gas fireplace, an exposed stone wall and hand-painted accents by a local artist. A door to the balcony leads to a private sitting area which overlooks the garden, the meadow and the woods. The private bathroom contains a whirlpool tub/shower combination. This room is located on the first floor and is handicapped accessible.
  • Catherine's Room - This room features a vaulted ceiling with exposed beams, an antique armoire and a gas fireplace. This room's country flavor is enhanced by decorative hand paintings of vines and birds that can be seen on the farm. A Lancaster County quilt tops the queen-size handmade tiger maple canopy bed. There are two sinks and a tub/shower combination in the private blue and white tiled bathroom.
  • Olivia's Room - This sunny, pale yellow room reflects the warmth of its southern exposure. The decorative hand paintings on the walls repeat the flowers of the Williamsburg bedspreads on the twin beds. This room's private bath features yellow ceramic tile, a tub/shower combination, a pedestal sink and exposed beams.
  • Violet's Room - This room features a queen-size pencil post canopy bed, handcrafted of tiger maple. The sage green coverlet and wall to wall carpet complement the purple hues of the hand painted flowers on the white walls. The private bathroom contians a tub/shower combination.

A typical breakfast includes juice, seasonal fruit, warm homemade muffins and a hot entree.

Walnut Lawn Bed and Breakfast

This 1909 brick two-story bed and breakfast has the warm, simple atmosphere of the past. The high ceilings, beautiful chestnut woodwork, large pocket doors and heirlooms provide a restful ambience.

Choose among the following rooms:

  • The Four Seasons Room -This room has a Queen-sized bed, and a private bath in the old tank room that collected roof water.
  • The Quilt Room - This guest room come with a King-sized bed, a powder room en suite with a private bath next door, and a balcony.
  • The Siam Room - This is the largest room at this Lancaster lodging. It gets its name from the fact that it is decorated with items from Southeast Asia. There is also a Queen-sized bed, and an all-season fireplace. The room can accommodate a family with the use of a cot.
  • The Garden Room - This is small but cozy room with a Queen-sized bed and private bathroom. The room derives its name from the gardening theme evident in the wallpaper as well as by the books and magazines available in the room.

All the rooms come with cable television.

The morning breakfast usually consists of juice; fresh fruit or oatmeal; French toast or rolled egg loaf; sausage, ham or bacon; muffins, toast, or bagels; and, coffee, tea, or milk.
