Here is a listing of the some of the special events taking place in Lancaster County during November of 2008.

The dates, times, and admission prices are accurate as of the time of this posting. However, it is possible that changes may occur as the year progresses.

Lancaster City

Wonderful Town : Experience the rush of your first visit to New York City all over again. This entertaining tale of two sisters, Ruth, a would be writer and Eileen, a dewy-eyed bombshell. They’re fresh off the bus from Ohio, ready to follow their dreams, fall in love and live happily ever after in New York City.

With a dazzling score by Leonard Bernstein (West Side Story), the show is full of misadventures and happy endings. This Wonderful Town makes for a wonderful time.

The Christmas Show: Constantly compared to Radio City Music Hall, American Music Theatre’s Christmas Show is widely hailed as one of America’s best.

You will enjoy a wide variety of secular and sacred Christmas songs, ranging from outstanding a cappella renditions to powerful orchestral versions.

The comedy sketches are fun for kids ages 1 to 92. The graceful American Music Theatre dancers as well an appearance from Santa himself.

Make this holiday season the most memorable of all with Lancaster’s favorite Christmas show.

Family Science Sunday : Family Science Sunday is truly science fun for everyone. Various hands-on activities, science demonstrations, interactive events are available along with an opportunity to witness some of the animals a little closer than normal in the Live Animal Room.

A Christmas Carol : Journey back to Victorian London, 1843 for a classic tale that shows it's never too late to change.

First Friday - It is always a great time to visit Lancaster City on the first Friday of each month. Experience the downtown as 0ver 60 galleries, museums, shops, and restaurants extend their hours.

Litiz

Lovin' Litiz Every Second! - A great way to see historic downtown Lititz, Pennsylvania is to visit on the second Friday of every month when the town erupts for a special celebration for everyone.

Manheim

Paradise

Barefoot In The Park : Whether or not you have seen it before, you and your family will love Neil Simon's story of newlyweds Corrie and Paul, as they begin their marriage and start to walk the twisty road to love and life. Deck The Halls And Clean The Kitchen : Written in 1997, this play is one of the Rainbow Dinner Theatre most requested Christmas shows.

Strasburg

Voices of Christmas - An engaging excursion of Christmases past, the show begins in Victorian times, delving into the people and stories behind Christmas traditions.

Highlighting the voices that have carried the Christmas message throughout generations and returning to the announcement of the birth of the King of Kings.

Taking the Swing Train ‘40S Dance - Come and swing to the popular Sound of Roses live band among the trains in the Railroad Museum’s awe inspiring Rolling Stock Hall.

For extra fun, you can even come in uniform or ‘40s clothing.

Trains and Troops - Trains & Troops is the Museum's annual tribute to the U. S. Armed Forces, American railroads and all those who served, and are serving, overseas and on the home front in defense of our nation. Experience a fascinating array of military and military railroad service-related archival posters, uniforms, equipment, field gear, maps, books and photographs on display from participating exhibitors, as well as from the Railroad Museum's own collection. You will get to enjoy riding the troop trains on the Strasburg Rail Road with living history re-enactments on both days. The special train will be comprised of a Strasburg Rail Road historic steam locomotive, a boxcar, a military flatcar from the Railroad Museum’s collection, two coaches and a caboose.

Miracle of Christmas - Presenting the lives of Mary and Joseph focusing on their relationship, experience of angelic visits, and the miracle of their son's birth.

The show culminates in a joyful celebration as kings, angels and shepherds converge to welcome the infant King.
