Here is a listing and description of some of the special Lancaster County events taking place in July of 2009.

Christiana

Amish Vows in Paradise - You are invited to the wedding of Rachel and Jacob. The King family will warm your heart. You will feel like you are peeking into the window of their home and are privileged to hear what is happening. Share the family's humor, joy and sorrow. Amish prayers and chants are included in the Amish Wedding ceremony.

This show traveled to Madrid, Spain in 2007 and will go to Canada this August for 21 sold out shows.

Denver

2009 Deutsche Classic - The mid-Atlantic’s premier all German Automotive event, with vintage, classic and late model Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Opel, Porsche and Volkswagen as well as the unique micro and mini orphans and assembled vehicles.

Be a part of the judged Car Show. Search the Swap Meet area for new and used parts and accessories. Shop for your next dream car at the Car Corral. Check out the new car displays. Saturday's events also include a Tire Toss competition which is a lot of fun. Music will be provided throughout the event.

Ephrata

3rd Friday's A Charm - On every third Friday of the month, the shops of downtown Ephrata invite you to a special celebration. The monthly event serves as the perfect introduction to this Lancaster County city as well as something to look forward to for regular visitors.

Lancaster City

Les Misérables - Based on Victor Hugo’s famous novel, the international sensation Les Misérables tells the story of one man striving for a better future and another who can’t let go of the past.

As a young man, Jean Valjean was caught stealing a loaf of bread for his starving family and spent the next 19 years at hard labor. When he’s finally released, desperation leads him to steal again, but eventually the forgiveness of one man leads Valjean on the road to redemption.

Still, the dogged Detective Javert cannot forgive him his relapse and vows to bring Valjean to justice. Spanning a period of 17 years, Valjean and Javert play a never-ending game of cat and mouse that eventually takes a painful toll on both men. Meanwhile, their lives weave in and out of those of a destitute Paris on the brink of revolution.

Route 66 Revisited - The Roots of American Rock n' Roll - This show traces the history of America’s music, from Memphis to San Francisco and everywhere in between. Explore the Georgia soul of Brother Ray, the California harmonies of The Eagles, and the Jersey rock n’ roll of The Boss. Village Art Association’s 42nd Annual Outdoor Art Show - Over 200 artisans will be displaying their work for show. Artists compete awards in fine art and sculpture. If you enjoy art, you will love this highly regarded art show, which is presented by the Village Art Association of Lititz. Art will also be available for purchase.

This is one of the most enjoyable and most highly regarded art shows along the east coast, don’t miss it!

  • Paradise

    There Goes the Bride - As a socially prominent family prepares to wed their daughter to the son of an equally upper-crust set of in-laws to be, what's the worst that could happen? You can't even imagine!

    After an unexpected whack on the head, the father of the bride begins seeing a 1920's flapper, unfortunately no one else can. This makes the new in-laws very nervous and when the bride lets slip that she is already acquainted with the birds and the bees, the wedding is almost called off.

    Just when you think it's on, it gets called off again and again, each time for reasons zanier than the last.
